Educators Rising Alaska students and teacher leaders are invited to attend this event to compete, connect, and learn together. Students will have the opportunity to compete in competitions such as Public Speaking and Lesson Planning, visit the University of Alaska Southeast campus where they will learn about college and career preparedness, and tour the state capital.
Registration is open from December 1, 2018 through January 31, 2019 through our portal. Download instructions on how to register.
Print the student application for students to fill out completely with all required signatures. Students will select their competition on this form- there will not be a separate competition registration!
Teacher leader will need to login to the portal (email firstname.lastname@example.org for access) and upload student applications there.
Teacher leader will enter in student registrations through the portal.
Pay registration fee of $29/person- invoice will be emailed to teacher leader to confirm registrants.
Virtual competitions are now available for those that cannot attend in person. Please follow same procedures above to register, and mark “virtual attendee” box.
State Competition Information
Competitions will be held on Friday March 8, 2019 during the Educators Rising Alaska Leadership Conference. Competition registration is completed through the conference registration process.

*K12 Outreach department is hosting a Showcase event that invites legislators and general public to learn about our various programs: Alaska Statewide Mentor Project, Alaska Teacher Placement, Reach-Up/TASK and Educators Rising. Educators Rising representatives from each chapter will be expected to attend.
Early Submission Requirements Due February 25, 2019!
Lesson Planning competitions require videos (download instructions) and lesson plans (see below links) to be submitted before conference to allow time for judges review.
Submit videos and lesson plans by end of day February 25, 2019, with subject line formatted as: 2019 Lesson Planning (Arts, CTE or STEM), Last name, First Name. Videos must be in mp4 format and no longer than 10 minutes. Lesson Plans must be in PDF format. Please see rubrics below.
Children’s Literature books will be submitted at Conference Opening for technical scoring, and will be available on competition day for students to present, then held until Conference Closing.
Presentations and videos must be brought to competition on a USB Flash drive as well, and have paper copy of lesson plan available.
